I purchased an Item from this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2127541
I BIN it and went to paypal to pay. Payment was done with no problem but when I returned the DP after payment it shown an error like this :
I checked that payment is done successfully in PayPal but I didn't want an unpaid item marked in my account so I paid once again, and once again the same error. Both payment proofs attached,.

    s2.jpg

    Summary:

1 paid for the item twice in order to avoid unpaid item marked to my profile. But despite transaction completed smoothly both times, it is not reflecting in your instant payment system as shown in 3 screenshots above.

Thanks for refund, but this thread is not to blame you. I was sure you will refund. Now waiting for admin to look into the bug.

Hi Shawn, both transactions are in my PayPal IPN history and I don't see any errors. Is there anything specific you'd like for me to look for? Let me know. Thanks!

I went through the same problem. I got the same message too.

Seems like this is kinda repetitive.

Can you PM me the contents of the IPN notification in question by chance?

Yeah, if you have IPN notifications disabled, it would be a problem. PayPal currently has a weird bug where the notification override URL doesn't work if the PayPal account at one time had a hard-coded notification URL and then it was removed (if you never had one to begin with, it would work fine). It's completely illogical and stupid, and a known issue they are working on. The work around from them for now is to create a blank file, put it on a server and make that your "default" notification URL.

In the meantime, does the IPN history let you resend the notification by chance?

Looks like we received it on this end. Can psharma confirm on their end it's reflected on their account now?

Did you set the notification URL to some blank page in your account? If so, make sure it's an actual page because PayPal will spam you with messages when you get other PayPal transactions saying the notification URL is giving a 404 error. It's pretty stupid they haven't fixed it yet... I first heard about it 6 months ago... and again only affects PayPal accounts who at one time had a hard-coded notify URL, and then removed it.

Well you may want to reenable it permanently if you are ever going to sell anything here since you would just run into the same problem since your PayPal account is one of the "broken" ones.

Good call. So until I figure it out I will not enable the Pay With PayPal option in any threads.

Well it doesn't hurt to just leave your PayPal account with a default notify URL (until PayPal fixes the underlying issue)... but entirely up to you. The only thing it would do is have PayPal send an IPN notification to that URL when you get a "standard" PayPal transaction. They aren't looking for any sort of confirmation back, it's a one-way notification... so the only thing it does is add a single HTTP request to your web server for each manually sent PayPal transaction to your account.

But again... entirely up to you.
