Instant Message Privacy

You have always been able to enter your AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and/or Skype identities under your profile. This allows members to contact you by looking at your profile or a post you make.

Many people don't use it (like myself) because they don't want the world to know their IDs. So I just made a new option to give you a privacy option. If you enable Instant Messaging Privacy, only users on your Buddy List (which you designate) can see your IM identities and contact you.

Does this then mean I am on your buddy list? ;) (I can see your Skype link)

Okay, this is bizarre... the logic in the code looks fine... and works as expected no matter how i try it. If I log in as a user not on my buddy list they don't show. If I'm not logged in at all they don't show.

How in the hell can I debug this when I can't replicate it?!??!? heh Augh!

Is anyone else using this function that keeps only Shawn from seeing your instant messaging profiles?

I thought about making it where he couldn't see mine, because he's kind of creepy. I don't care if anyone else sees it. I just don't want Shawn seeing it. :D

Long story short is you gotta be careful with vBulletin. It's *too* efficient sometimes (caching data whenever it can to minimize queries). :)

Yeah it looks good now. I still think it was a great feature for people to just hide their messaging from you since you know where everyone lives with the user map. :D

Dude, you have no idea what the Digital Point master control room looks like... Not only are there maps with who's where, but I can see your IMs, phone numbers, email addresses. I can also see your bank account/credit card info/transactions in realtime. Before the end of the year I'll be able to stream what you are seeing through your eyes at any given point in time.
