Instant email (POP) notification - please help

I have an email hosted on a tld, eg.

Are there any good instant email notification programs out there that anyone can recommend?

(Other than outlook, etc.)

I'm just looking for something simple that will stay in my taskbar and popup a message or make a sound everytime I receive a new email.

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

What are you using to manage your email?

 

Nothing, just accessing email using SquirrelMail from cPanel.
