Depends on the directory! If the directory is quality and has a good ranking in search engines then search engines is likely to crawl it mush faster and then it would be yes, it would help you gain a quality back link and increase your visibility in search engines.
I don't see any instant approval directory has decent pr, so I think it is wasting time. But I usually use semi automatic directory submission software, I often get linkback from them
Yes its helpful to get you back link, but you can not just stay on that. Its good practice to work with. You can submitted to new directory where chances are more to get fast approval. Also make to get quality links along that will help you increase your ranking.
Yes it is certainly any directory specially seo friendly directory are important whether it has pr or not but if you get a back link its always important.
I would have thought an instant approval directory wont have any human editor so in my opinion would be of a lower quality than human edited ones.
I thought it was a typo/grammar problem and he really meant fast approval. Decided to do a test and Googled 'instant approval directory'. There at the top was instantapprovaldirectory.com So I duly submitted my parked sudoku site to 'paid directories'. The only fields to fill in were captcha and url (very worrying) I submitted and was sent to a page in a foreign language. Unfortunately I don't know if my site was accepted as only the first page of the alphabetically sorted category worked, all the others gave a 404. Enough said

There are two aspects here, one: if the directories approve links quickly, it means that either it is a new directory or there are very few number of submissions to that directory. two: The directory owner is very particular about the number of links in his dir, and updates his listings regularly, which means quality site requests are bound to be approved quickly. So, the fact of the matter is that it all depends on the quality of your site that you are submitting and also the directory that you are seeking a listing on should be either general and you seek the proper category or you select a relevant niche directory for submission.
In general just check out the pagerank of the directory and it's size - those are more important than instant or non-instant

I created Instant approval directory . For now I accept sites without reciprocal , but later I'll add autoCheck for backlinks.
