I recently purchased the shared webhost from hostingdepartment and when i saw the features over there, fantastico was available but when i purchased and entered the cpanel, there wasnt fantastico but some other scripts like cpskin, cpanel wp, etc.

and when i used that, they installs the wordpress in some another folder directory. what i am looking is installing wp in the main directory.

any help..?? because i am very new with other scripts. i only know about fantastico.

Do check with your host why Fantastico is not available.
If you are not familiar with scripts, Fantastico is the easy road to take.
Upgrading scripts on Fantastico is also a breeze considering your lack of script know-how...

It's surprising to hear. You are not getting any help from them? I can understand how frustrating it is.
I understand it's not a free hosting. And you paid for no support!

Did you try those links given by zinruss?

basically for wordpress, copy all the files from the wp directory to your main directory then. run yourdomain and just follow what the screen told you and off you go. that;s it!!
