Imagine one day you move away to a different webhost with Plesk instead of cPanel, and Fantastico will not be an option.
    You'd be lost, wouldn't you..

If time saving is not crucial for your right now, I'd suggest always downloading latest script versions and install manually. Even if that requires closer attention. That way you get to understand better how each script works. Knowing where the config.php file is located can turn into an advantage some day :)

And in the event of a sudden error, you'll have an idea where to look for a fix. If you got a website, you got to love it. "1 click sites" don't always work well in business..

I've installed Wordpress dozens of times and I find it by far to be one of the easist to get up and running and configured correctly. Upgrading is usually a snap too. If you're not familiar with installing scripts Wordpress is a good one to cut your teeth on.

I know its supposed to be easy. They have a famous 5 minute install. I still had problems.

One thing is that Wordpress has some volunteers who will install it for you. You have to give them access to your account but they will install in wth a 24 hour turnaround time.

A baby can install WordPress manually. All you need do is set up a mySQL database and upload everything, then access the Admin panel and you're done.

I suggest you go the manual route. I did just that with a Wordpress installation on an addon domain, and it went without a hitch. The instructions for doing this on the Wordpress website are pretty straightforward. I seriously doubt you'd mess it up if you follow it step-by-step. Besides, what's life without a few challenges every now and then. :D
