    Hey guys,

    I downloaded windows binary of mod_security from apachelounge.com. I'm having trouble setting it up. This is what I did:

    1. Installed VS C++ 2008 Redist

    2. Copied mod_security2.so and libxml2.dll to apache2\modules\mod_security2 folder

    3. Added LoadModule security2_module modules/mod_security2/mod_security2.so to httpd.conf

    4. Uncommented unique_id_module in httpd.conf

    But apache is not starting now. Am I doing something wrong or is there anything I haven't done? Please help me.

    I haven't messed with mod_security on the windows platform but I have done some apache work on windows and mod_security on linux. I would say check your logs and see if you can find any useful info in there. Maybe the service won't start due to bad permissions or incorrect login? Maybe it won't start because it's not finding one of the files specified for it to load?
