I want to install apache 2.2 over my existing Apache 2.0 which is part of the LAMPP package. My question is whether can I install it by simply following the standard steps and not caring about the fact there is already an older apache installed and running. What about the startup script? Will the new installed Apache be started after a reboot or will the old one?? What will happen to the old apache? Will it be overwritten? uninstalled? or anything? My OS is: Linux version 2.6.9-5.EL (bhcompile@decompose.build.redhat.com) (gcc version 3.4.3 20041212 (Red Hat 3.4.3-9.EL4)) #1 Wed Jan 5 19:22:18 EST 2005 Thanks in advance.
