I tried creating an account and it says my user name is taken? Wouldn't it be the username I used when setting up and installing wordpress?

Create a mysql database and edit wp-config.php however if you've not edited it properly when you visit you website it will ask you to enter the mysql database you created and viola!

go to yoursite.com/wp-admin/ and you should be able to login, also check your email for your username and password. if you cant find it you might want to re-install it or use the mysql to empty the password out from the field. once you are inside your admin panel you should have no problem making a post.
