Install windows XP?

Okay, I currently have windows XP set up on C:.

I would ideally want to change the current C: to, say, W: and then install the new one to C: and delete W: in a month or so.

The problem, of course, is changing the system drive letter. Seemingly this isn't exactly possible?

Alternatively, I would like to just install the new OS to W:. Problem is, when I enter the setup... all my partition letters have changed and it changed the W: to an N (which I guess was the next available letter)...

Is there anyway I can install it to my existing partition (empty) which has the drive letter of W?
