install lame?

    im stumped!

    I was able to install lame on a dedicated server or so I thought....
    on ssh if I type in lame I get prompted for commands but when a php script calls it nothing happens...

    how can I troubleshoot it...should I install it again?

    Does the user running php script have execution permissions for lame?
