Exclusive News which I will not be posting elsewhere

Insider News from Searchen for my DP buddies.

Since it is rarely possible to get news before it happens, I figured I would make this announcement so everyone can get a glimpse of what is to come.

Many of you have seen the www.searchennetworks.com search engine and directory. Some of you have even taken the time to submit your sites which most have gotten excepted.

From what I can tell, about 80% of submissions have found a home on pages within the directory.

Well, this news will come in two parts:
    Good News and Bad News

To start we'll dive into the Bad news first so we can butter you up with the good news after...

    The Bad News

Point 1 - The bad news is that I am currently in discussion with my lead developer to alter the free gateway into the directory and implement a payment feature which will create a neccessary payment to access the submission form. Ofcource, this will make searchennetworks.com a paid entry directory.

Point 2 - Editor positions will still be available which will enable savy users to avoid such payment requirements. Naturally, our guidelines on editors will become even stricter then they are now.

    The Good News

Point 1 - The good news is that you have an opportunity to get in now before this takes place, so if you havent yet had a chance to submit or did so and did not get excepted, clean up your submission and try again.

Point 2 - Additionally, since we will be able to begin recooping the expenses to build the engine, more funding will be available to promote it, enhance features and functionality, and in turn create a better engine and overall user experience. If we're really lucky, we may even be able to put a little money in our pockets, which after all, is the name of the game... ;)

So take this news and use it to your best advantage. It is generally not wise to share such ideas and plans before they happen, but I'm going to stick my neck out on this one....

I expect to have this roll out anywhere within the next 24 - 72 hours.

Editor accounts were abused and the system has been disabled until we address the situation... :(

Looks like we were headed right for another DMOZ.... Not having it....
