This is a film by Charles Ferguson on the 2008 financial meltdown. Has anyone seen it yet? If so, do you believe it's worth seeing? According to the Facebook page, it was the winner at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. This is the movie trailer:
Maaatttttttt Daaaaaammooooonnnnnn! Looks like a propaganda piece with interviews of some of the very people who helped create this mess(Barney Frank) telling everyone who is to blame. Even though the rest of the film looks legit, there is just so much bullshit out there one has to put on their tall boots just to go see a movie these days. I say watch it all, but always with an eye of skepticism.
LOL. But, yeah I know, even the title has "conspiracy" written all over it. I hadn't even heard about it until today. I was reading an opinion article in the NYTimes, and they start talking about the movie about 1/3 of the way into it. I'll probably see it, but I don't think it's in my local theatres yet. Thanks for your thoughts, Obamanation.
Let me explain to you how this works: you see, the corporations finance Team America, and then Team America goes out... and the corporations sit there in their... in their corporation buildings, and... and, and see, they're all corporation-y... and they make money.
What do you think ? Did you even read the title ? Frankly , I believe that you have something to do whit spam . Would you like a nice cozy ban ?
I don't know anyone personally that has actually seen this movie. I just checked the Facebook page again, and it had a listing of theatres it's being released to. If I can't find it showing a bit closer, I may wait awhile, and just watch it on my computer. But, it really sounds interesting... Edit: Just wanted to add, I found this on the Vancouver Sun...
This is going to sound horrible, but being a political junkie, I feel compelled to see this movie. Being a partisan, I absolutely refuse to put money in the pockets of the people who are likely behind it, unless I suspect I agree with the ideology or goals of the producer as in Waiting for Superman. This leaves me on Bit-Torrent downloading a sometimes less than quality copy of the movie while it is still in theaters. Michael Moore, Oliver Stone, Aron Russo, Dylan Avery, all my favorite leftists, I see all their movies. Knowing Matt Damon's skill at delivering a polished product, this one should be good, even if its complete bullsh*t.
That doesn't sound horrible at all. If you see it before I do, which you probably will, let me know all the details!
Yay you're posting again . Any chance that you'll be active again in P&R ? Not your trolly side , your sarcastic and funny side .
have seen it. waste of time. i would recommend the money masters. though made in the mid nineties it is so relevant in todays context.
