insert music into html, with or without user controls

Hey all,

I am working on a website for a band, and they want music to play when the website comes up...my question is this...I have code that does both automatic music (no controls for the viewer of the site) and code that does have controls (much like the controls on myspace)....does anyone have a preference as to which would be better to use? Thanks.

 

As an user, I will perfer control over no control.

This way i can stop/play the music in the site.

 

Control. And on top of that, make sure you put the media player in an external window that people can choose to open if they like, rather than forcing them to listen to the music when the page loads.

My opinion is to have user controls so the user can stop/ and or replay the songs. This give the user more control, instead of default music playing.

I think automatic "background music" was previlent in the early stages of the WWW, however these days users like to be interactive by being in control.
