Hello all. New member looking for input please. How do you all feel about using a name like scifipie.com for a website? I came up with the phrase quite awhile ago actually, and registered it about a year ago. I think I've been out of the sandbox for awhile also. Can anyone help on subdomains? I have a sub-domain called forums.scifipie.com and am wondering how PR and link juice trickles down through the site. Should I have just went with scifipie.com/forums? I think I recall hearing at one point that Google likes to index down through three hierarchies. I'm trying to build it up into a sci-fi discussion forums to talk about anything relating to sci-fi including hot babes, guys, books, movies, favorite series, characters, roles, so forth. I have a sub-forum for solar energy discussions and am also considering adding blogs in the future for both. Thank you in advance for your help. Scifipie Guy

scifipie.com/forums is a better option for you. Because it gives authority to your main domain. But if you wanna run a forum on different niche or on different theme then go with forums.scifipie.com. I hope that now u have understood properly.
Thanks again. I do intend to go in slightly different ways, but not altogether divergent. I think I would like to zoom in on science and science fiction. I feel sci-fi has driven a lot of new science over the years since sci-fi became a genre. Seeing as how the forums are so new, I could make it scifipie.com/forums and begin by emailing the few members I have already of the new address, and putting the forums.scifipie.com on a redirect to scifipie.com/forums. I can also change my blogs to represent the new address in all my signature links. I don't think it would take much work to move the files over to another directory. Do you think the domain name is catchy? I rank very highly in search for scifipie and scifipie guy, although there really aren't many places that mention scifipie on the internet yet, lol. I'm trying to make scifipie my brand, and scifipie guy my moniker, and know that I need to make my coined keyword viral somehow and get people familiar with the term. Any advice is very much appreciated.

About your domain name i wud say it is pretty gud and attractive. It's unique domain name. You cud make it your brand name because it has wide area and sectors to explore. So just move ahead and hope that u wud get success.....................
Thank you very much for your time and input. I did put a lot of thought into the name before I registered the domain last year. I know that branding is very important on the internet. I also agree that there are many different venues that I can branch into from such a catchy sounding name. I'm glad you also spotted that potential.
