Hi there. I'm a junior marketing executive looking to develop my knowledge of off page SEO Factors. Specifically with link building, I'm hoping to develop an understanding of the most beneficial link building practices for clients. My current understanding is that there are various types of links with different value e.g. article/directory/1 way/3-4 way links and developing 50-60 a month for clients can help them rank for specific, general, long-tail keywords. It would be great to start a discussion on the relevancy of each of these and perhaps how Link Building can become more innovative in the future e.g. the evolution of bookmarking and allowing users of the internet to link to content and establish new, less resource intensive ways of developing links. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
actually this whole forum section is about things you are mentioning. I don`t understand exactly what is your question?
Well I understand the basics of link building and current trends of outsourcing this work to companies in places like India who building links e.g. article/directory/1 way/3-4 way links. But I'm interested to see if anyone has any new techniques or perhaps types of content that lend themselves to being linked to without having to go through the expense of time and other resources that developing links in the traditional sense come with. Does this clarify?
Well the most unique way of backlinking that worked very well for me is PAD submission. Its takes some time to know to implement it.But once mastered its a great source of backlinks.I bought a domain a month.Just did PAD submission and installed WP.In the PR update it hit PR4.So this can give a rough idea how effective it is.
Thanks for your response. Software publishing online is an area I've been interested in for a while so I'll bear this method in mind.
I use only effective link building methods to help you rank high, bringing you more traffic. .... They are innovative, knowledgeable and affordable
Link building is not about blog comments, forums, directories and link exchange. And who do you think will serve you innovative practices, for free? You'll only get the routine answers - directories, blogs, articles, yadda yadda yadda
Well practices like the PAD submission are clearly innovative but the process for developing software is very time and resource intensive to implement. I wasn't looking for golden, industry insider solutions, just maybe current trends of successful new link building practices e.g. video etc
You cannot be experts in short time, all of us in this forum are always learning day after day, SEO is a continual process
Of course, and I am still learning. My early understanding of link building is that the brute work of submissions to article directories etc can be outsourced, where as video spoofs (link bait) and social media content which could require different types of media spend and time-scales can be as lucrative when developing traffic and backlinks. SEO is of course a gradual processes with no golden bullets, I was just looking to start a discussion on new link building practices
Link bait is the best type of content (in terms of lending itself to getting links), as it makes people want to link to it e.g with social bookmarking.
Link building strategies involve putting your website URL out to a variety of search engines, local, national and international directories, social bookmarking sites, article directories, and other websites in your industry that get good traffic and have a good search ranking themselves.
Matt, I can really relate to your situation. I was put in charge of off-page optimization about 5 months ago. I've mostly learned through trial and error. There are some tricks that I've found to work like a charm, but the most important principle I have learned is to ALWAYS DO SOMETHING . Never stop and wait for results - keep submitting, keep writing, keep posting, etc. For a more mundane tip, try targeting wordpress blogs. The great thing about wordpress blogs is that they almost always have a static sidebar throughout the site. Think of a typical often-updated blog. There are 50+ posts, about pages, contact pages, etc. all with the sidebar that contains outbound do-follow links. This sidebar links section on a wordpress blog is known as a blogroll. Essentially, if you get a blogroll link, you're actually getting a link for every page of the blog. Buy a few blogroll links from different blogs, provide anchor text relevant to your keyword targets and you'll notice a difference in the SERP within a quarter (probably sooner). I hope this helps!
