Hello everyone First of all I would like to apologize for opening a new thread for the same matter. The old post didn’t have enough clues and infos from my side so I hope that this new thread will be more enlightening for all of us: My websites URL is www.webhostingart.com I have started the website approximately 6 months ago. All the articles that are published are unique and they haven’t been published somewhere else. The website has a PR 5 builded mainly through web template sharing. I check my rankings through http://www.seoserp.com/web_tools/google_top_1000_serps_checker.asp I am testing my rankings using the titles of each article. Almost every article for its own title gets a position between 800-900. For articles with titles like “Web hosting economics†“Questions to ask your web hosting provider before you buy†and “database hosting†the competition is minimal. Why on earth they rank so low? These articles should get a much higher rank without the need of any external links. My homepage has approximately 30.000 links as google webmasters shows. I have submitted a sitemap, most articles are there for more than 2 months and they are properly indexed. The website hasn’t been involved with directory submissions, free for all link pages, social bookmarking sites, spamming and back hat techniques. For instance if you search for “all about shared hostingâ€, which is the title of one of my pages, it comes as the last result! It is like the google hasn’t given any value to these pages. I can’t say that those articles need more external links in order to rank. Yes, they need links in order to be on top 10, but they don’t need links in order to be on 100 where they had to be. I don’t know what to do. I have searched digitalpoint and every webmaster related community and I still can’t find an answer. Help me my dear co-webmasters!
Inner page PR is much harder than homepage you get, some directories offer deep links submission that you can submit inner page.
Thank you for your replies. PR for inner pages is not a necessity nowadays. Even a PR 0 page could rank quite well. All of my inner pages are indexed properly and on time. The problem is that they don't rank. Other websites even if they create a completely blank page with the title for instance "Web hosting economics" will get a result on the first 20 positions. I rank at 853 position! The odd think is that my homepage that has a link to the given inner page ranks at position 4!
Search Google for your article titles in quotes and see how many duplicate titles there are in the results from more established sites. The articles may be original, but the titles may not be.
Some of my website have inner pages with higher PR then the home page. I guess we mostly try to do get backlinks for the homepage, thats why usually we have home page have higher PR.
For instance if I use as a query "web hosting economics" I get on number 2 my homepage!. The corresponding article lies at 36 position. Above this page there aren't any other dedicated pages just, someone that mentions this term on a page, not dedicated to this theme articles. I wonder what is going on...
If you are trying to rank those pages then make sure they have more incoming links then from their parent pages, get solid links with proper anchor text and you should get them to rank.
Your site needs more inner links with varied anchor text, esp from the homepage. Your homepage has pr5 so you can afford to spread the love.
Which inner pages are you specifically referring to. It's weird that your homepage has a PR5 and some inner pages are PR0. That tells me that the pr juice is not flowing throughout your pages properly. I have some sites whose inner-pages are higher than the home page. What is your sitelinking structure? Please explain further.
Look this page for instance http://www.webhostingart.com/types-of-web-hosting.html. It is titled “Types of web hostingâ€. Using http://www.seoserp.com/web_tools/google_pagerank_checker/google_serp_report.asp you will find it at 844 postion when you search using the title as query! The specific page has a PR of 4! The competition is minimum and this page deserves to be on first 100 positions. Look also this page “Web hosting economicsâ€. For the phrase the page can be found at 809 position, while the frontpage of the site, that only has a link to this page, ranks at 10 position!. This is very odd if you ask me...
For increasing rankings of internal linking just do directory submission, do follow comment posting and Article syndication with pointing to links on your internal links. your problem will solved.
Hello to increase internal pages PR little bit tough, but if you doing regular basis submission work than you will sure get good PR in internal pages.
