Inner Page/Deep Linking SEO question

    Hello,

I have a Product review website that I am about ready to start SEO on. On page optimization is already done.

The basic structure of my site is: Home>Category>Sub-Category>Product

The pages that will be most beneficial for me to start ranking higher for specific keywords are my Sub Category Pages that
list specific Products in the category and the Product pages, not the home page.
I have over 200 sub category pages and thousands of product pages and plan on systematically going through the most important ones to work on specific search terms.

My question is: is it more beneficial to start link building to my home page first for the purpose of ranking higher on my sub-pages
or to start on inner page seo right off bat?

    Any feedback appreciated.

As your site is Product review website site so you should promote your internal page but you have to promote both home page as well.

You can start by linking posts together and installing a Related Posts plugin. In this way, when a visitor reads an article, he would read the next one you tell him to read. This increases time on site, pageviews and decreases bounce rate.
