I am getting back into Adsense after a few years. I seem to remember there was some kind of inline scripting or coding that could be added to the content to keep the Ads focused on the Keyword OR stay away from certain topics. Is that the ole days? Thanks!
Thanks! That's too bad. I have seen some crazy Ads show up on my site withe ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with my content.
Ads you see when you visit are based on your bahaviour to... If I go and research say hosting then go to my sites and see ads they are hosting ads. If I go and search "SEO" then go to my sites I see SEO ads. It's what Google call "relevant ads" and it is partly based on what you are doing as well as what is on the pages you visit. This means ads can appear that bear no relationship whatsoever to page content. It is of course anything but relevant to page content but it's nice for Google so they can say it's not just spam ads but is relevant ads.
Exactly! I know all about that. I was on a completely different network and did a search on my root keyword, found my site and saw Ads not even in the same family on my site. They were not close to being relevant except to say they were Products.
It's a bit bonkers if you ask me as people produce pages so the right ads appear in context and then Google tracks behaviour with a relentless accuracy and focus on previous activity making it a big joke as previous activity has nothing whatsoever to do with the page there and then.
Google Adsense shows ads based on your browser cookies too, to give you targeted things which you were browsing before, but it is not only one method, there are many things when it comes to deciding ads for any web page, content, domain name, location etc.
