Inheriting links and PR clarification??

Thanks for visiting this thread. This has been puzzling me, say you have 2 domains.

Domain A has 1000 backlinks
Domain B has 500 backlinks

You do a perminant redirect on Domain B to point to domain A, does this mean domain A will inherit domain B's PR and backlinks? so domain A would then have 1500 backlinks pointing?

 

I would just add domain A link to b so it passes some on and have 2 sites

 

Yes, however so for instance you have Domain A indexed on 500 Directory sites that only allow you to list the domain once, you could in theory submit domain B to the directories tally 1000 backlinks for dirfferent achor text.
