Do it via email. You will receive an email about the infraction. Just reply to it.

Well, now I feel like I should go back to lurking. I am really more confused about what to do-not to do.

    Thanks,

Nothing to be confused about...just read the rules, use common sense and ask when in doubt.

    Hey,
I got an infraction for posting this "Submitted several. Waiting for approval." in a free directory submission thread. According to me i don't think i was trying to increase my post count. Wonder why the mod. thought so!
Please clear this doubt so as to avoid this mistake in future.

The area for users to post that they have directories open for submission is the solicitations and announcements area. That is the area where you find all the "Submitted mine." type posts.

Fairplay and something all of us should abide by.
I guess until you get an infraction some people just play naughty!

No matter wat say I do take it personally because afterall its serious when i post something and when someone points it as "just to increase post count post" I do feel bad.
    Look at this post:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=381363&page=3

Just look at the date at which he replied my post, its almost after two days after payment while he said it was all instant after payment. Very bad attitude i face here, i must say the guy who flagged that post as just to increase post count has lost his sense.

I just got a warning for posting in the wrong category. Why? Because like an idiot, I actually HIGHLIGHTED THIS TO AN ADMIN TO MOVE IT. Next time I guess I'll let quality control slip since it seems I won't be rewarded for my efforts!

I just happened to see that post - hadn't seen the report yet. You got a warning (which carries no points) for posting an Adsense thread in the affiliate section.

No kidding. It's not like I'm 3 years old. I pointed out that I made a mistake to the administrators here!!! If I didn't say a word it would have gone unnoticed. Sometimes we overmoderate given the volume, don't realize it, and that's fine. But this keeps happening here for stupid little things. I got a ridiculous, stupid, inane infraction for posting a confirm that I sent a PM during an auction - something you have to do - and I got an infraction for post count inflation. Totally absurd. It's almost like what I saw at sitepoint and none of this stuff ever happened to me there, just what others complained of.

Perhaps this was a mistake but there is nobody I can see who is responsible to talk to. The above nailed me and end of story. As I said, next time I'll keep my mouth shut instead of trying to improve things around here and help webmasters the way I'd hope others would help me. It only causes you grief here.

The thing to do when you misplace a thread is make a bad post report.

Often in scanning forums we see misplaced post and move without reading anything but first post in thread. Also we received bad post reports from members other than OP move without reading entire thread.

I saw the post out of place, moved it & gave you a warning without ever seeing your report. Warnings don't carry any points.

OKay, this thread is done. I just spent an hour erasing posts that are totally useless.

Everything about infractions is posted in the very 1st post. This thread was not meant to be a place to bitch and complain about getting an infraction. Get over it. :)
