Are you talking about infraction points or reputation points? (or both, and I'm just confused) and who is the spineless monkey?

No. No one except for the person receiveing the rep cares about it one way or the other and discussing it in threads on other subjects is not appropriate.

Yea good Idea - Here is some suggestions to change the word "infraction" to

10 Hugs = we break up with you ( Ban )

10 beers = your drunk we throw you out of bar ( Ban )

10 pennies = your too rich for this forum ( Ban )

10 excuse mes = get the ****edited for the weak**** ( Ban )

    10 buffalo wings = Dinner over ( Ban )

    10 tokens = game over ( Ban )

    How are those ....

No matter what you call them, there is just way to many sausages here and not enough buns,.......

I disagree, I think infractions are so the forum moderators can feel as if they have power.

What a crock....there's rules for all sorts of things and penalties for not following the rules.....point blank...no argument.

Power or ego trips is a ridiculous statement. Especially aiming that at mods of the most respectable forum in the world.

At first glance, i agreed. But it is too blunt of a statement, the mods dont abuse to prove they have power, because we already know they have the power (normally unquestionable).

Without infractions I don´t see how the forum can be efficiently moderated without the mods having to do a lot more work.

I got two infractions for saying "submitted 1, thanks!" in the Directories -> Solicitations and Announcements forum

Reason was "running up post count/post has no value"

All I wanted to do was say thanks to the original poster for the free offer or discounted offer for their directory.

Is this allowed or not? If it isn't, then I won't do it anymore, but I feel that as a community, it should be ok to say thank you.

    Please advise. Thanks.

I do not concur. This thread is an excellent example of the type of community decision making which causes DP to be worthy of respect.

I like infractions. Before we had infractions, it was always a soap opera when someone was banned because there was so much emotion involved in the decision making. Now, it is a much more rational system. People are banned, temporarily, for a pattern of poor behavior. This new system is much less emotional and much more effective.

And yes, I have two infractions of my own right now. :D

    I love infractions :D

    I love DP.

    I especially love Mafaka's :D

On a serious note though I do agree with Mike I feel the infractions are a good idea. I just prefer to get yellow infractions instead of red ones :p
