Infractions for Asking Questions? WTH

When someone has a BST offer of services or products, and someone makes a post asking for details on how to pay, specific information such as clarification of what is offered, request for free review etc...

This should be considered a NORMAL post and not be subject to a RED infraction.

With all the flaming, bogus, spam posts on this board which should be subject of infractions, mods need some training and pointed in the right direction, instead of obstructing legit buyers and sellers, and either following a stupid rule that needs fixed, or mis-interpreting an okay rule, in which case they need fixed.

Ugh, the following post should be an acceptable response in a BST thread, "Please PM me details including if test drive available, amount, where to send payment, yata yata yata."

If you'd rather we do everything via PM, then what's the point of having threaded discussions? Maybe the BST should just be classifieds with no ability to ask questions, make comment, or interact.

AND in case you can't figure this out... this thread is not to complain about an infraction, but rather to request:
    a) Reconsideration of the rule prohibiting this behaviour
    b) Reconsideration of the mod training in interpreting this rule

now thats a bullshit post if i ever saw one.

you want us to reconsider if you can make bullshit posts like that? i don't think so.

reconsider mod training interpreting a rule? you mean the rule that says don't make PM sent or send me a PM type of posts?

seems i need practice giving infractions. lets try it out on you.

and no, i didn't give you the first one but i am giving the second one yata yata yata.

Apparently we have a difference of opinion as to what is BS and what isn't. Your warm and friendly personality comes shining through in this thread, just like so many others.

Personally, I consider a request for review, request for payment methods, total price, etc, to be an important part of the offer. In fact, by the o.p. omitting, the natural progression would be for someone to ask then them answering the question. This exchange could have saved dozens of other like-minded potential buyers asking questions via post or pm, and would have been consistent with the overall theme of this site which is an exchange of ideas, information and products/services.

It appears that you BST is really a classifieds section with no discussion, since obviously questions about price, reviews, details on the offer are to be conducted offline and not publicly visible. Bizarre way to use a FORUM, but it's your call.

Thanks for clarifying the concrete nature of the rules, and the lack of willingness to reconsider change, discuss intelligently, yata, yata, yata.

You may not post to ask someone to PM you. You may not post to ask for review copies (if the OP says review copies are available, you should PM them -- if they don't mention them, PMing them to ask for free stuff is spam).

If the OP chooses not to include the price, etc., that's their option. At that point they choose to field those questions via PM. For example, if they choose not to share price or a domain name publicly, then PM them. If you have more generic questions that apply to everyone (like whether a template is unique or not, whether content on a site for sale is unique, etc.) then you're fine asking in the thread -- just don't tell them to PM you answers.

The primary reason threads are open in BST is for people to leave reviews after the deal is complete.

Thanks jhmattern - a clear, concise explanatory post devoid of flames and expletives - much appreciated.
