    Hello mods.

I've got a couple of infractions whose reason field states "Running up post count/post has no value".

Then I've checked the sticky here which confirmed what I though about that reason.
Now, here is one of the penalized posts. Which, you can see by yourselves, adds new and relevant information to the thread.

I would like to know what was wrong with them.
    Thank you in advance.

any particular reason you didn't edit your previous post, you know, the post you made roughly 30 minutes prior to the one you got an infraction on?

    i would like to know.

    Oh, I see.

I use to edit my posts. I just didn't realize that there was another post (of mine) there. In fact you are right, the same happened in the other infraction (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=12518372#post12518372). In that case there were two and a half hours in between, anyway.

So, there is no particular reason for not editing previous post. Furthermore, I don't get any benefit for posting twice unless next month my employer use my post count for multiplying my salary.
On the other hand, it would be great adding this situation to the list in the infractions' sticky.

There is a forum I use once in a while where posting twice has a funny effect. Your posts get merged by the forum software. Particularly, the second gets added to the first one. There may be such a plug-in for this software you would like to try.

    Thank you very much!

    -----------
I think this is getting a little unfair. I understood perfectly why I got penalized in the posts mentioned before. I will pay attention in the future. But, the reason of my infractions weren't listed in the "Readme - sticky". And I get a new infraction for opening this thread?
Having access to the "add an infraction" button doesn't make you less wrong.

It's easy to see it that way but when we let the forum run "wild" it gets spammed and is made worse than useless really quickly. We do listen to feedback and we do try to find the balance so that good members can relax and enjoy the place and abuse gets sorted out.

We have a huge number of moderators and even then we rely on the reports of our members to identify problem posts. If I looked at my "workload" it would be 70% through reports, 15% through a problem forum that I keep an eye on, and 15% from just using digitalpoint like anyone else.

So, if you are concerned that infractions are being handed out you can be pretty sure that it was a non-moderator that brought it to our attention in the first place.

@sarahk - You are really doing good job. Congrats and I appreciate that. But not all moderators are as friendly and good as you are. :) Its just that some moderators like to enjoy their power. Or else how can they make distinguishable from others. :)

Honestly, I came here (to S&F) to find out what was wrong with my posts. I didn't wanted my infractions gone, as anyone can read in the first post. I've got the answer and one more infraction for asking about infractions (one not particularly described in the sticky).

Result: I came here caring about infractions. I leave this forum as I find it useless and I don't care about infractions any more as they are meaningless. You can get one for whatever you do. Nothing related to good or bad behaviour.

Ok I must Rant a bit about these so called infractions.

Let me just say that I find this forum very helpful to me and i respect everyone. But they must come a time where a person must stand up for him self and say what is on his mind, even if its towards the fellow mods of this forum.

This is the SECOND time I was GIVEN AN INFRACTION AND I NEVER POSTED IN the thread, OMG.

Just woke up this morning checking my email and I notice this infraction then i told my self these people Banned me again?

I will post the reason of the Infraction:

    Dear SUB,

You have received an infraction at Digital Point Forums.

Reason: Running Up Post Count/Post Has No Value
    -------

    -------

This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

    Original Post:

    ---Quote---
I'll be following this thread. It seems interesting.
    ---End Quote---
    All the best,
    Digital Point Forums

And if you clearly checked that link, anyone will clearly see that SUB has never posted a thing in that thread.

I have to Rant like this because the last time that happen I was Banned and it was while i was learning something new and putting it into to practice. But a couple days later, DP Banned me for 2 weeks.

I understand that order must be maintain and I do agree, I seen too many idiots[Peon] trying to sell things by leaving their affiliate link in their post within the Affiliate section which is entirely stupid because we all are affiliates within that forum.

But when you haven't done nothing wrong and DP is issuing infractions, its just plain wrong.
