I am not making this post to complain, but I am writing it to try and understand what I'm doing so I don't make the same mistakes again.

Within a couple months, I've gotten two infractions on bumping posts and I have no clue why. Here is the definition for bumping posts:

Bumping thread - Bumping is when you reply to your own thread with the sole purpose of bumping it to the top of the forum. Also, a worthless reply to old threads can also be considered bumping.

I've never had any intentions of posting to a thread just to make it appear at the top of the forum. The only thing I can think of is when I do StumbleUpon exchanges in the freebies forum, and after several people have responded with the links to their site I say something along the lines of, "Thank you! I have stumbled all your links. I appreciate it."

I don't do this for the purpose of bumping, but I do it to keep up with what links I've stumbled and which ones I haven't. This is the only thing I could think of for getting those infractions, but I don't see it as being wrong because other people do it with their Digg/StumbleUpon exchanges just to keep up with what they've done.

Please let me know if it's for this reason, or for another reason why I have received these infractions. I don't want to disturb this forum in any way or tarnish my reputation. Thank you! :)

    I AGREE!!!

I received the same thing. I sometime reply to my thread to let everyone know I replied to their PM's.... sometime I miss someone... I get lots of replies. I am not intending to "bump" but to be customer focused and not miss everyone.

Check the bummping sticky in buy, sell, and trade.

Any takers? and sent you a PM type messages are seen as bumps. There is no reason to tell anyone you sent them a PM. If the have email turned on you recieve an email and have a pop up appear when it is sent or the next time you come online.
