Infraction for warning people about a scammer?

Well just trust me. I got a 2 point spam infraction. but I don't really wish to discuss that any longer and it is kind of off-topic.

 

So does this mean that people can only post positive comments and feedback about someones services, even if it's a scam?

If someone is selling something in a thread, people leave feedback on the seller's services. This keeps people honest and helps others determine whether or not to try/buy...

But are you now saying that if you paid the guy but he didn't deliver, you can't say anything???

So you are allowed to state that the person's services were good, but you aren't allowed to say that the services were bad?

This seems a little bizarre to me!

But you can't open a new thread accusing someone of being a scammer,spammer or jerk.

Spot the difference:

For those that need spelling it out further...

Option 1 = Personal Attack and Harrassment
Option 2 = Starting a civilized discussion...

Option 1 = Infraction
Option 2 = Freedom of speech without breaking DP rules or international laws

Option 1 = Not nice
Option 2 = Much Better

PS names used in this example are ficticious. Any resemblance to people in real life is pure coincidence.

And may I just add that only transactional (buy, sell, swap, trade) threads should go in the Buy Sell Trade area. We daily move half a dozen discussion threads out of it. You don't just ask questions in an eBay auction either, do you?
