Infraction for responding to directory sollicitations

I am a little bit confused. I haven't been a member of DP all that long. But why do I get an infraction for responding to a directory sollicitation?

I have been active a lot in that section of the forum because directories is something I have just discovered (I am glad I found this forum it's so helpful :) ) and I've added my site to a lot of them.

Most of them I don't respond too because I don't want to bump old threads or anything. But I thought that in order to get a quick submission you could let the threadstarter know that you submitted your sites. I am not the only one who does that you know.

And now I have an infraction and a green rep for the same post. I don't mean to get a high count of posts or anything cause that doesn't interest me a bit. And I am truly sorry if that post doesn't have any value like the infraction message said.

But isn't an infraction a bit harsh?

Just looking through your recent posts they seem to be a copy and paste of
Submitting to directories is hard work and so thinking up something meaningful can be really hard work. However if the user has a decent directory system they'll be getting two emails
    1. from DP saying the thread is bumped
    2. from the directory saying there is a new submission

Do they need to be told twice? would a PM work just as well?

And your posts don't give any idea of which ones to look for - if priority is given over all the other submissions - or any feedback on the directory or anything at all, really.

Okay, thanks for your explanation.. Does that mean that everyone gets infractions then? I am surely not the only one who responds like that as you might have noticed.

But I don't 'bump' threads.. I only responded to the fairly new ones.

I am sorry, but I am new to the world of DP and their reps and infractions

Finally.. Now I know how to get one. Who would have thought it was this easy? And think Nintendo had to beg for one.

No, we don't have time to read every post. For some reason, that I'm not privy to, your posts were reviewed. It's not random, but sometimes posts get picked up in the crossfire.
