Rules Infraction for bumping in the Sales section? Huh?

The infraction claims I bumped a thread. But, it's in the sales section! They don't bump when you reply.

The message was purely informative. It didn't result in a bump.

Why should I get an infraction?

PM sent type posts serve no pourpose and add nothing of value to any thread. Recipient know he/she has a PM.

The infraction states "no purpose other than bump the thread". Since it didn't bump anything, it shouldn't be an infraction. No one was inconvenienced or harassed or in any way negatively impacted by what I did.

My experience using the internet has shown people don't always realize they received a PM. Or look at a case like the last day for me. I've received enough PMs that it's hard for me to assume I got everyone properly replied. I don't see it as infraction-worthy considering that 1) it was my own thread and 2) it didn't result in a bump and 3) no one in that thread cared that it ever happened.

Your house, your rules. I get that. But, it's bit overzealous to mod that an infraction.

If it makes you fell happier I will change infraction to inappropriate post. Time to read the FAQ

PM Sent - Do not post "PM sent", "I sent you the details", "check your inbox", or any other related terms. People know when they get a Private Message. If you really want to notify the user that you sent them a PM, email them.

Fair enough. Is there a reason it is now raining infractions on me? I'm listed as having gotten two more.
