Alot of people here are saying that .info's aren't good for SEO and SE rankings.

What do you think? Also, are .info's still worth buying when it comes to niche sites?

    Thanks

I don't like them, they are used by spammers and blackhats due to their cheap prices and since they are through away domains, they are bought in the hundreds.

For SEO, the extension really won't matter, however, I still wouldn't buy them since, as has already been mentioned, they are frequently used by spammers.

I try to buy domains that I can see myself still owning several years down the road - for me that means buying .com domains.

.info definitely doesnt hurt SEO. I started a new site with a .info and within a couple months it got a PR3.

I think that .info's are just fine and will be more accepted as time goes by. I remember when .net was new and no one seemed to want that extension.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

Think I might aswell save and go with .info's, and create myself some "spam" sites :p (just kidding ;))
