There's several different methods of advertising but what's the common and more effective ways to advertise a website like www.abstractvision.info. I don't sell products but just provide information so what's the best way to gain traffic?
Make sure the information you provide is good info, well-written, written in a proper Web format as to not annoy readers, update frequently, and get as much unique content up there as you can. Then focus on SEO to improve your search engine placement. Information sites can draw a heavy percentage of their traffic from SEs. Get listed in niche directories. Crosslink articles on your own site as well as you can, to help readers get to other information they could be interested in easily, so they don't leave right away. Promote in relevant forums. If you release a collection of free info on one topic, send out a press release (there's a template on one of my sites at www.allinfoaboutmarketing.com that you can use). Try setting up an email newsletter if you don't have one, include a subscription box on every page of the site, and write regular newsletters. There's a lot you can do. Jenn
I agree that the most important thing you can do is to keep updating your site regularly and with very good information. If you build it, they will come!
Agreed, as they say, "Content is King." Continue to add original content that revolves around a defined set of keywords and you will be in the SERPs before you know it.
Hmm... My latest development is for a website on computing tips and help that I have collected from various magazines over the past few years. I am wondering what else I can do other than submitting to free directories, optimize my meta information. Hoe would I know which are the best keywords for me? Also, how effectively can writing articles help me when my articles are usually technical and not more than 300 words. I will try keep up with regular updates nowadays. Also, the PR dropped from PR4 to PR2 after the latest update so I would like to get some advice to get my website profitable soon.
Are you saying that you're collecting tips from print magazines and re-publishing them on your site? If so, that's copyright infringement, so I just want to understand what you mean by that before offering any tips to promote it. Jenn
Wow! My biggest problem with the site is I have no idea what it is. Even after I read what it is, it sounds very confusing. If you don't have grabbing attention WITH PICTURES right on the front of your page Organized, you aren't going to get repeat visitors. If you have articles post them, don't say,"we're a site with articles"....... You need something that is going to catch the attention of your visitors who have an attention span of .5 seconds. Good Luck.
If that's the case, isn't all the tips on other websites infringing copyright as well? Since it is only advice and tips that I have read, I think it is not really copyright infringement. Correct me if I am wrong.
Confusing in what sense? Hmm... I will be wondering what type of pictures are there in the first place for me to put up. I doubt screenshots of the registry will attract much attention actually.
I agee that the site is confusing and cryptic. Within the first 5 seconds a person should be able to determine what the site is, what it offers, and how it is different. Your site lacks strong and blatant communication that answers those questions. Internet visitors are fickle and have low attention spans, their attention must be caught immediately upon arrival or they will be hitting the back button. Try to develop messaging and navigation that is user oriented, and addresses a particular user need clearly and immediately. That should get them involved, then gradually introduce them to the full extent of your content. http://www.spartaninternet.com - Spartan Internet Consulting - Strategic Internet Consulting
ya, it think what the site needs is a little bit more graphic and colours.to be on the safe side, you'd better put who wrote the articles and tips.
Yep, that's wrong. Even tips, or "advice", are copyrighted once they're written down (or typed, etc.). You can't just use them as you please. You can let them inspire you to write your own though, even if they're somewhat similar in nature. Jenn
