Information overload. My head is clouded.

I've read so much on DP the last 3 months and with all the information on here I am confused a bit on what order to do things if there is such an order.
So far I have done the following to a site of mine that went live this Jan. 1st.
    - Created my site with an SEO friendly CMS (Subdreamer) and SEO'd my forum
    - Submitted my site to Yahoo, MSN and Google (submitted a sitemap)
    - Submitting to 100s of directories (currently having someone on DP do this for me)
    - I told friends and family about my site
    - I hired some people to post on my forum (although it is only a small part of the site)
    - I created a 728x90 banner ad and I posted it on a site of mine that gets about 400 uniques/day. (btw, this old site of mine gets 400 uniques by pure luck since I never SEO'd it and just word of mouth during a year period got it to where it is now but it should be getting 1,000+ uniques by now if I originally knew what I was doing).

I signed up to various Social Networking and Social Bookmarking sites. I signed up for a Blogger and Wordpress blog. I just have not done anything with any of these mentioned accounts yet.
Where should I go from here? Maybe social bookmark submission service? I see a few good reviewed ones on DP? Maybe start a blog or 2 about my site, or submit an article about my site to somewhere?

I am just confused and was wondering where to go from here:confused:

My advice is go off from the monitor, cool your head and relax. Then you will get the next tip automatically from your brain. :p

You need to focus on one thing at a time...

Become very good at doing one thing - after you've gotten to the point where it's working for you, then move onto the next thing.

If you try to do too many things at once, you'll get nothing done.

Build build build. It's the hardest part, so you might as well do it first. Submitting can be done later.

I doubt there's any specific order... more like "do what works for you"

Alright, now it would be good time to check out statistics. Where your traffic comes from? Is it search engines? Is it word-of-mouth? Is the banner ad helping?

All these factors should be evaluated. If some certain sites are getting good traffic for you, then perhaps it makes sense to try to get even more traffic from these sites?

I'm not sure if submission services work, but naturally you are free to test.

I'd rather check out "where you are right now" and "how did you get there".

Then it might make sense to set a goal, and do more that works.

I'm in the same boat as you Joseh7 --- I have some scattered things accomplished, was gaining momentum with google adsense earnings but they closed my account, not sure why yet and I've applied to yahoo.

Does anyone have anything that works immediately?

I have a long term business plan (information product to sell, and building a mailing list for webmasterlife but for the short term I am really looking for something.

If anyone has a tip I'd be happy to give you half or a third of what I earned, as you wish.
I'm going in circles and need something short term.
I'm in webmasterlife, I have a real estate site, I'm in World Dating Partners.

    Thank you~

Now I do not know what your website is but depending on the type of website it is this what you have to do

    Affiliate Website
You need to advertise your website using a pay per click advertising network like adwords. Your goal is to make more money than you spend advertising. So pick a keyword price which is right

    Blog/Content Website
Daily add content to it so that it is updated on a regular basis. That is the best way to get to the top in Google. Add keyword rich content daily. It will give you an amazing page rank and propell you to the top faster than anything else.

    Selling Products
Again in this case you will need to advertise so that you can make money off of sales. You could also add a blog to the website so that the blog acts as an attractant.

If you are a little more specific about your website perhaps I could guide you better. Hope that helps.
