information about video streaming

    Just a comment regarding the Adobe/Macromedia Media Server...

    There are hosting companies (or at least there WERE a few months back) that had hosting packages available. Yes, if you had a lot of data throughput it was going to get expensive...but if it was light then it might be an option for you.

    I think the dollar range I saw (for what was called the Flash media server) was in the $30-$35 range. If memory serves, you could either have a few high-bandwidth simultaneous users or else a lot of "low-bandwidth" users with respect to the licensing.

    If you are intersted in a lot of live-streaming it probably is not a good option for you. Just thought I'd throw it out there so you can look it up and see how (if) it has changed over the last few months (since I looked into it). You never know where you might be able to pull a nugget out of the muck...

    Good luck...and I am going to go back and look at red5 again..haven't looked at it in a long time...
