What sort of traffic numbers do you get to your site, about, OP?

I don't know how they do it, all I know is that they clearly state that they pay per view on their website, as I quoted above.

Though the problem for me is that I only get paid for like 50% of my views.
Some days I have an eCPM between $20 - $70, and other days I have $0 eCPM, even if I got views.

The ecpm of $20 to $70 seems extraordinarily high. I am averaging an ecpm right now just under $2 which I have to admit is rather low, but still, your figures seem very high. I am hoping as the days go by, the Infolinks algorithm will show more relevant and better paying ads thus increasing the ecpm.

By the way, other than first day I haven't had another day with 0 ecpm.

Is your site low traffic? ecpm on low traffic sites may not always be a true reflection because only few people need to view the ads to result in high ecpm.

One thing I am a little surprised about Kontera is that they appear to have big name advertisers on their roster and have more professional looking ads, yet their payout is lower (by most accounts) than Infolinks. Little surprising that. However, it now appears just recently Infolinks are becoming a more professional unit. Their reporting has improved, they are rolling out different types of ads, etc.

I am torn between whether to have 4/5 or 7/8 links underlined per page. I know Infolinks allows a max of 12, but there is no way I am going to have that many. It may increase revenue significantly but makes the page look spammy even though my pages on average are fairly long. I think I have to take a conservative approach and go with 4 or 5 links. I think the user experience comes before revenue.

Less is more as they say.
You could always do some split-testing for a few weeks to see what works best for you.

I've done testing with different amounts, different colors, different amount of textxs etc and my results were:
If you have a short (200-500 words) "take action" or "how-to" article then a medium amount of red links works wonders.
For longer (1000+ words) solid content try to blend in the links colors with your other links colors and use a bit more links.

but that's just how it worked out for me and I havn't done any tests in a while now so it might have changed.

Well, the main site I am trying it on actually has a combination of short, medium and longer articles, mostly actually mid length rather than long. My understanding is that you only get to choose one colour for the entire site. At the moment I have it blended as colour is more or less similar to the colour scheme of the site and the the general link colour. But I am considering making the links really stand out by choosing a colour with a lot of contrast. It will it make it more obvious they are ads, but I am worried it may appear more spammy. Infolinks themselves suggest blending.

Well, the eyes are naturally drawn to things that stand out from the rest. And since Infolinks has gone PPV now it might
be more profitable to draw as much attention to the links as possible just so people hover them.

You could be right. Out of interest, how many links per page have you gone with on your highest ecpm site?

The revenue is a b*tch now. I've quitted them after 5 days.

    12 links per page.
I haven't changed it for like a year because I havn't been working on the website at all.

By the way, I love the real-time reporting Infolinks has when you view it in mobile. Its a really good tool with updates every couple of minutes, and also the colourful charts you have that gives an hourly breakdown. However, it would be much better if you had hourly details and charts for each new reporting day as opposed to details only for the previous three hours. This way people would be able to tell how much they've made in the current day anytime as opposed to stats only for the previous three hours. You could have today's earnings at the top in the real-time stats section.

i had my account terminated because I gave up on them and Kontera as I was only getting $0.01 a click and not many people were clicking on the links. Seeing that Infolinks now offer a PPV method I might give their service another crack. :)

Is this true? my everage eCPM is 3.5$ although my website is business and finance related. And the ads view is always 1/3 of the real unique visitors. How can you reach this rate?
