Infolinks damaging placement in search engines?

    Hi all,

Has anyone else ever noticed that after integrating INFOLINKS into your site your placement in search engines dropped heavily?

I dropped from 5th on front page of google to 2nd on 2nd page overnight after activating it.

Is this just a fact of life that obviously due to infolinks having lots of external links its going to make my ranking worse, or did I potentially do something wrong?

Any comments on this would be appreciated,

    Thank you

    Luke

I found infolink not very useful way to make money and leave this network. The main cause is it reduces the page loading time. However I will not be amazed if it harm your search engine ranking.

I never thought of it, but maybe. Perhaps because of the script. They say if your website contains complicated script, it will drop your ranking.

Personally i feel using Infolinks has the below issues:

    1. Low income
    2. Disturbs your user experience buy hyperlinking and previewing.
    3. Too many links in your articles.

suggest you to avoid using it.

    cheers

Google adsense is way better in my opinion that infolinks because:

    • it seperates ads from content
    • does not hinder your users
    • pays well in good niches

But both the methods are only 5% of the income from a blog's potential in my opinion. Personal product development and affiliate marketing controls the rest.

thanks for your opinions and info guys, I will continue using adsense, as i have used this for about 9 years now without any problem!

Josh when you say that adsense or infolinks is only 5% of the income from a blog or sites potential what do you mean exactly by affiliate marketing ? (im quite basic, if you didnt guess..)

Basically i mean that if you are able to narrow down your niche to a very niche specific blog and have decent traffic, affiliate marketing has real good potential. I am from India, i make about 3000 USD monthly from affiliate marketing with just one good blog that account for 90% of my earnings. the earning from adsense was 120 - 150 used monthly only, so i stopped wasting the space and using it for my primary blog, i am now using adsesne only for other blogs that i own.

affiliate marketing is allbout first gaining the trust of your visitors and having a niche authority OR ranking top for a particular niche or keyword and redirecting to a sales or affiliate page. Each sales would earn you commission anywhere from 50 - 60% on most good products.

NOTE: dont loose your trust by suggesting prodcuts you have not used or tested.

    cheers

Hey, this is Tammy from Infolinks. I wanted to share some info with you guys. Having the Infolinks In-Text ads on your website will not interfere with your SEO efforts. Infolinks script is built just like any other Java script; Java scripts do not interfere with the website’s loading and flow, and they are unread by search engines.

Also, it is important to optimize your site for the highest monetization possible. Shoot us a quick email at support at infolinks dot com with any questions.

btw, just wanted to share that no more than 12 In-Text ads will appear on your site with Infolinks and you can control how many appear in your settings. :)

    Tammy

I've also suffered a catastrophic fall in SE ranking (notably Google) after integrating Infolinks just over a week ago. Traffic has fallen by over a quarter on a site that typically gets 1.5 million visitors a month and Adsense income has likewise been affected by this drop. I'm in the process of removing the Infolinks script from all my pages and am keeping my fingers crossed that by SE positions return to normal. There's no question in my mind that the two are related.

My Infolinks CTR is Good and See no Drop in Search Rankings. But I wish Infolinks would let me Block Advertisers Especially Dictionary Ads I mean in One Day 42 clicks and only $0.84

You are exactly right. They should add a setting to bock ads by specific clients and block ads under a certain price. On high value keyword sites a link paying less than a few cents should never be shown.
