What do you guys think? Do .info domains represent any advantage in terms of future value? In other words, if I bought and held onto a bunch of .info's now, what position do you think I'd be in 10 or 20 years out?

I wanted updated info, and a new perspective. That is why I made a new post. I have been here quite awhile (much longer than you, in fact), so I do know how to search. :)

I take it your considering taking advantage of Godaddy's $0.99 .info offer.

I see nothing wrong with grabbing a few that have choice keyword combinations or are good short letter combination, but I wouldn't go out and buy any more than 20 for the purposes of long term investing. Remember, once the renewal date comes, it's back to normal price for the .infos and you'll have to pay at least $6 or $7 every year for each .info.

My advice is the price is right, go ahead and grab a few if you see some decent available names and see if you have any bites. As far as long term investing, even if you eventually uncover a gem, it's likely the profit margin would be chewed up by continually regging the lot.

Indeed, GoDaddy's offer prompted these thoughts! :)

Anyway, thanks for your advice. That is useful.

As with any extention, it really depends on the names you own in .info, there are names that are worth buying & others that are not.

The .info is great for informational sites.
