When I do a google search with Info:sitename nothing shows up but when I do a search with site:sitename, links from my site do show up. So why is info about my site not being maintained by google? Do I need to add any special tags or text in my pages.
Works on my site, I get my homepage listed and then this Google can show you the following information for this URL: * Show Google's cache of www.domain.com * Find web pages that are similar to www.domain.com * Find web pages that link to www.domain.com * Find web pages from the site www.domain.com * Find web pages that contain the term "www.domain.com"
Diablos is correct, those are the normal results for that search operator. If it doesn't show your site might not have matured yet on Google.
I think that this is because (this is just a thought) the 'info:' operator is page specific and the 'link:' operator is site wide. I have seen this occurrence before, when the home page of a site is either, not cached or in the supplemental index (could be for any number of reasons). See if it works when you do the query for a page that you know is definitely cached (and ranks well) i.e. 'site:www.domain.com/page5.html'. If this situation continues for a few weeks it is definitely worth a look into. The main reason why a site may have other pages cached but not the index page would be duplicate content on the index page.
