I am new to domain name buying and selling. Can someone please advise what is the difference between .info and .com extensions? I can see that domain names with .info extension are far cheaper than those with .com extension. Is there any reason for the same? Also I want to know that if I purchase a domain name (with .info extension) which has highly searched keywords, would I be able to get a premium on resale of the same? Hope to get some quick advise. Thanks
See basically .com is prefered by people because first thing a user does is type a .com in url .. info is good but .com is first preference for everything
you will win in many ways if you get .com . Its the most favorite domain, ctrl+enter leads to .com in browser, you can use coupon codes to buy and renew ur domains for 6.99. Most of the time .com ranks high in SEs. .info is less than 1$ but it will be 8$+ when renew and no coupons for .info domains.
I read somewhere that google dislike .info domain due to cheap price....BTW .com is the best and .net can be used as 2nd priority.
If that is possible to go with .COM domain name go with .COM domain name. If not try to search for the ideas within NET or ORG zones.
you will not get a premium value on resale of any .info domain that you could register today. its not that .info is invaluable, but any premium keywords that would go for good money have long since been registered. anything that you find to hand-register will not fetch a premium resale price
.com is the hottest extension and the most used on the internet. After .com there comes .net then .org. then many other extensions then comes the .info. .info is the cheapest but a nice way to start if you don't have money or if your website is really about Info like computer.info , creditcards.info ......
.com is generally seen as the 'first choice' however in situations where you can find the exact name you want in .info and the .com is already taken, I would go for it
I prefer .com's for search engine optimization purposes. If you are driving traffic via ppc or some other paid route, then you can go with .info.
If I was making a informative based site i would try a .info but at the same time I would also purchase the .com and use it as and park it on the .info.
