Do you guys think it is better (maybe for SEO purposes) to choose a .info or .com domain for a pre-sell page. I have noticed that most affiliate marketers use .info presell pages. I thought maybe a .com presell page for a product would be better? Or should i just stick to the .info presell page? I am referring to promoting just one product. For example, dont you think that www.rocketspanishreview.com would be better than www.rocketspanishreview.info? Plz help dpers thx.
Affiliate marketers use .info domains because they are cheaper, so if you are promoting many products, it's cheaper to use those. .com domains, they are just more popular, that's why people like them.
Don't get a domain which has a product name in it - you're leaving yourself open broadside to any legalities the product owners might put forward.
Good point. thx. I appreciate the comments and would appreciate more. I guess .com might be better but it's expensive. I don't know why everyone uses .info then???
info is cheaper and there are many more available, so if Gor desired .com is taken you can go for the .info. There should be no seo difference between the two.
.info or .com - Search Engines don't care. However, general public trusts .com sites more. So if you are planning on pre-selling different products, I suggest getting a general domain name such as: Honest Reviews.com, or Reviewed.com or... something of that sort, than you could use subdomains for different products, such as: product1.MyReviewSite.com product2.MyReviewSite.com product3.MyReviewSite.com Alex
That was in my mind today, greatness008. Thanks for asking I use info now. I think when u use PPC you can write whatever to the "link" section, and use your info domain to redirect the visitor. So, reviews.com in the ad, and the whole thing just pointed to reviews.info
There is absolutely no difference, nor is one better than the other, it's just a price difference. If you're entering the AM arena, within a year you could have 20+ domains/programs you are pushing, and thus its a few hundred dollars difference (you shouldn't look at is as expense, it's an investment). Think downstream too - you'll probably be able to sell the .com much easier come time when you don't need it anymore, .info is cheaper to buy, but renews in a year at regular cost (at least with godaddy and other biggies). It truly doesn't matter technically - you can also just get one domain and use it for multiple programs - i.e. you buy 'greatdeals.com' you can make any prefix to suit your program i.e. 'ebooks.greatdeals.com - software.greatdeals.com - forex.greatdeals.com' I see my affiliates doing this a lot... Cheers. NC.
Great ideas NC. I also thought of something else. Is it better to make a site that promotes alot of products or one that is directed for only one product your promoting. Which would be more effective? Thx again.
