Hi, I am seeing lot of .info domains these days mostly because its cheap. but how will be the value of a .info domain witha good keyword on it?
as such if domain is keyword reach it doesn't make difference in TLD. (only regional TLDs make difference in respetive region) but technically .info domains take more time for lookup adding "extra overheads" in finding name servers. also chances of having glue at parent name servers. (doesn't make any diffrence lookups but are suggested in RFCs) for .info this overhead is arround 200- 300 ms while for .com its only 1 - 5 ms this definately makes difference in speed of site.
Premium .info domains are selling in the 4 figure range. Funds.info sold for 22,000 or so, as reported on dnjournal.com
I beg to differ. With all the other good extensions taken, and with the internet being an "info" resource, I think .info registrations will only increase.
.info domains can help you rank high and bring in a lot of cash. Don't pass it up, plus the price can't be beat!
When i entered this field i didnt get any good .com's so 1st registered a .info which cost me the same as .com my 1st .info site www.studydirect.info is ranking good and i never saw any BIG difference between .com/.info Only that people forget to add .info, due to the habit of pressing Ctrl-Enter and directed towards .com extension
I would say if you have : Lotsof.info or info.info you are on your way. Other than that it is just another way for ICANN to make money.
You can't go wrong with .info's they're only $2.00 (at most registrars) and they seem to sell really well as developed sites.
Renewal costs are high for .info, but you can transfer it to another registrar later and get one year renewal Current renewal fee is $7.99, but it will go down to $7.49 in 6 months on whiz.in
Howdy! .INFO suits informational type sites and a lot of people are using them for ppc. They look good too when someone types into a SE something like... insurance info, care info, etc...etc... Lyte
