.info domain names- more to it?

    Hello all-

I just read a thread about domain names, and I had a further question.

I have been buying .info domain names, because they are only 99 cents via GoDaddy. This allows me to test out all kinds of sites, and I plan on keeping anything that makes over $10 per year (covering the future .info renewal fee).

I have been getting very descriptive domains, thinking that most of the web is linked now, and very few URLs are typed.

So for instance, if I was getting a site about a baseball team, I might get:

    florida-marlins-baseball.info

I can't really tell if this is working (nothing to compare to), but have any others had success with this type of thing?

Are .info domains just a black hole?

    Thanks,

    Karl

    So what are you asking?

From an adsense point of view the domain extension doesn't matter.

its ideal to have a domain with .com extention. but sometimes when i dont find my desired domain with .com extention, i do register the domain with other extention. .info domains are jus find if having a keyword rich domain is important to you which is ideal for SEO. but for branding purposes, .com works out better as people tend to remember .com better than any other domain extention

I guess my focus is really SEO. Many of the sites are the type of thing people might go to once or twice to get some information. Not a community, or something that changes often.

So if .info is okay for the search engines, I'll stick with this plan.

.info have a bad rep, for malware and etc. I saw an msnbc article on it, warning users not to trust .info and .cn domains.

Why doesn't anyone ever use the search button. There is a topic started every freakin day on this subject. It doesn't matter if you are just trying to gain organic search traffic but you won't get type-in traffic. It is that simple.

after hearing recently how .info sites often drop out of Google for high ranked pages, i don't bother with that extension although i buy other extensions than .COM.

Domain extension doesn't matter as long as you have a good content and good traffic...

Don't you think this thread suites better in Domains section?
Anyway, extensions do not matter if some good SEO is done for the site.

I have many .info domains. Not stylish but have been performing equally well like my other top 3 domains.
