    Hi guys
i was thinking of building website with the domain names having the .info extension. Is the myth that google penalises .info domains true?

Not really. You can get good ranks with all domain extensions, even .info but for .info domains, you might need a longer time to impress Google and if the domain is new, a longer time to get yourself out of the Google Sandbox.

Everything will be alright after at least 3-9 months if you commit yourself to natural link building. After that, you will rank nicely just like others.

No, I don't think Google penalizes .info domains (at least, I have seen nothing to prove they do).

PageRank doesn't depend on .info or .com ;) It depends on backlinks.

Google do not penalize .info or any other extension.

All extensions are equal when it comes to ranking in search results. Extensions only matters when we talk about sites made for specific regions.

Glad to see some opinions on this as I have been wondering this myself.

I think I have seen in the past some people suggesting that .info is
not looked on as favorably but realistically all it means is that the
site is an "information site" so it shouldn't matter.

    Cheers
    Col
