Link building is a fabulous way to build traffic. Hit all the social media sites and set up a wordpress blog as well. Those methods alone will boost your traffic considerably. The initial time for setup will be a good chunk but the flow back into your pipeline is going to be worth it.

You could blog commenting, but ensure that your comments add value to the conversation, as well as the article submission and press releases, as inexpensive ways of boosting your traffic

One option for paid advertising you may want to look into is advertising via ads in another newsletter. i.e. find a related expert in your niche who's got a large subscriber base. See if you can pay for a sponsored ad. There are several out there that already over this option, just have to search for them, but if you find someone who's site you like, send them an email and ask about advertising to their list. Use your competitors to help you make $ if you can. You should be able to test out a couple ads fairly cheap before committing to a larger ad budget.

Get heavily involved with forums, social media, and blogs that has anything to do with what you offer. Then genuinely help others and build relationships.

Accounts with social networks. Also good idea with the redesign (i haven't actually reviewed your site). People don't use a website not matter how good the idea is if it doesn't have a cool design. Marketing, design, and idea usually go hand in hand.

You can run a search in google using any of your target keywords. Most of the time, these blogs and forums will also be your competitors (but you don't have to tell them that when you email them. ;) ).
