As many will have noticed, Google have now added the ability to check performance for individual ad impressions ... still not which ads tok traffic away from your site, but helps a little I guess. They had put this in last week and took it out quickly again - they must have found some bug in it and now it works as intended. I am curious if any click tracking software is now able to perform any more accurate tracking (or is it going to be largely unaffected).
Do you mena you can now check the actual ad that was cliked on? If so, I gues sthis will be great fo analysis.
It used to display 1 ad impression per block. Now with this update it will show 4 ad impressions (if 4 adverts showed up in a leaderboard ad, instead of 1 ad impression). It will depend on block choices how many ad impressions will show upin total. If you had 3 ad blocks and 5 ads per block (and set to 5 ads to show), if all ads showed each time then you would have 15 ad impressions per page instead of 3 ad impressions per page as it was previously. I guess it can help some people analyse which pages to drop an ad block if there are constantly low numbers of ad impressions but 3 blocks per page etc... it may then help with better implementation of the ad blocks.
