India's first ever GOLD Medal...proud or not???

Ok, India got it's first ever gold medal that day...in shooting.
Honestly i'm proud of him (abhinav bindra), but there are many who are comparing it to 8 golds of Phelps alone, so they're kinda embarassed.

For those who are comparing, atleast he got one medal atleast..he has made a standing at olympics..and so does India. And what are people embarrased about?? What were their views when there were no medals..

 

Phelps is an anomaly and is competitive in many events. In some sports the athletes have one opportunity to medal but they are no less athletic.

 

Congrats! You should do better than that though, imho. So as Russia, too I think this time our team performing not that good.

 

even i think so...its about taking advantage of the opurtunity at hand...
and after all i think its not even about winning, its about the spirit of sports.

 

Of course you should be proud, One is better than nothing.. You don't have to compare everything.. Do you have any idea what it is to get an Olympic medal? :O

 

I'm not at all proud... It will take ages for us to win 14 gold medals overall in the individual events but a single man has won it so far... Sports in India (including cricket) is in a pathetic state

 

Well first Gold Medal, it's just a begining India has to do and show a lot in upcomming events Wish the players Good Luck.

i feel sorry for you....if thats what you think of your country...and the people who are trying so hard for it.

 

it is confusing that cricket isn't an olympic sport, but beach volley ball is...not that I am complaining that beach volleyball is an olympic sport.

Here we have some good Players but Goverment have no interest in it and they even not care about facility which provide to Sports person. Even fans also only follow Cricket.
