I am from India and I am in a plan to start a software firm (outsourcing works). So what are the things I should do ? Any license ? Other legal formats ? Can I include SEO and other works ? Please do help !
The best way is to get a SSI (Small Scale Industries) affiliation. But you may have to bribe around. SSI based Software firms gets a lot of tax exemptions. Get a Sales Tax registration with an Auditor and Register your company. You also need to start a Current-A/C with your bank. Check with your auditor regarding service tax.
How much I need to spend for that ? Is VAT needed for software industries ? I think the bill for utilities like internet charges, electricity bill and others are high for firms - So any discount for SSI ? Whom I need to consult for more information ?
people at SSI, blood suckers. they'll make your life hell, as you know, in the govt sector how they behave and how much they ask for...corruption is at that top of this. better to have some good jacks all around.

Register your company in an offshore location and save yourself the pain of dealing with the bureaucracy... some well known indian companies have done this...evaluserve is registered in bermuda...you can consider belize or san marino..added benefit- no tax on income...no VAT ..nothing!
