I attended one cricket match in Adelaide, where the Kiwis beat the Ozzies in a one day (I think it was like 140 to 127), I've attended numerous baseball games in Detroit, Los Angeles, Anaheim, and San Diego. So I am like an expert.

    Cricket like baseball except:

    The bat is flat.
Home plate is 3 sticks with pins between them (and there are two home plates and no other bases).
Fielders stand all around the batsmen.
    They don't where mitts.
    The pitcher is a bowler.
Bowling is a single hop pitch.
A normal game lasts for several days.
A short game last a day.
    A diamond is an oval.
    Every hit ball is fair.
Batsman where protection on their shins.
It was originally an English game, baseball's roots go back to the Irish game of rounders.
It is to India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, England, and South Africa what baseball is to the US, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela.

Other than that they games are quite similar. :D

actually cricket is the most popular game, and will be in the future as well. but in the past hockey ruled india for a long time. that was not our time, long time back, but india was wining all the matched in hockey then. we also have a lot of olimpic gold medals for hockey. but then from the 70's cricket started to take over, and now there is not comparision with cricket with any other sports.:D

No, it was the Soviets (USSR/CCCP) that dominated hockey through the 70's. Here's a photo that symbolizes the end of their reign in the 1980 Olympics. :D

no soccer is the most popular game on a world wide level.

cricket is not even that popular in australia with teenagers any more, most poeple play soccer and NRL.

Australia still is one of the best teams in the world but =)
