The airport isnt even doing it because of religious beliefs, they dont care about that, its a health a safety issue, the taxi drivers have to raise their legs into a sink meant for hands and since they know its going on and no warning signs blah blah, if one driver slips on his ass, they can get sued!
At least someone here knows the REAL reason why they were installed. It was for the safety issue which the article posted by the OP does not mention. If you read IndyStar.com article, you will see why they were installed. The public paid for their health, I am sure couple of hundred dollars can go decades.
My post has nothing to do with the white race, it's simply an analogy for special accomadations for race, religion, ethnicity or even sexual orientation. Installing special lavatories based on religious preference is dumb and it goes in the wrong direction.
I dont think it is the muslims at Indianapolis airport that are the enemy of USA. That pastor think so and it shows that he is out of reality.
If this is what you believe, then we are in agreement, to the extent I believe it is an unconstitutional, bad idea. I don't have a problem with anyone's faith; so long as any leave me and mine alone, I say, whatever you will. I do have a problem with being compelled to support it as a public thing.
M5, and others who don't see a problem with this. Please know that my issue has nothing to do with your faith. I've asked, and I will ask again: do you not see even the logistical nightmare this invites? I gave you a valid example - should any group, that has religious requirements, now be supported by the public in this way? Are we to accommodate every religion's practice on public grounds, by public monies and approval? If my religion required me to bathe several times per day - not too far off in the misogi practice I earlier mentioned - are we to provide showers to them, in airports? Forgetting the constitutional prohibition to such, for the time being - I ask again: if not one faith, why not all faiths, in a public institution designed for air transportation, and that is all?
So if i started washing my ass in the sinks because there were no bidets & i could fall & injure myself i could have a bidet installed?
Well if there are many dumasses (like you?) doing it and regularly and the airport was made aware of the issue, Yes, especially if it was people washing asses in sinks, i mean thats a major sanitation/health issue, superbugs and tons of bacteria will fester. Though you have twisted logic, if you tried that, before getting your bidet, more likely you would get beaten-down by other people in the toilet. I dont see the big deal myself, only zealous, insecure xenophobes - brainwashed by fox news - could get so worked up over a frickin foot-sink. Its a matter of practicality, i mean say you were about to get some food and went to wash your hands, do you really want to use the sink that people have been scrubbing their feet in all day?
No that would not be the outcome at all, the airport would not install bidets, they would have you arrested for not using the facilities correctly & that's what should of happened to the muslims misusing the sinks, in fact they should of been reported to their taxi company. You can't just go around misusing stuff, i can't discard litter in a telephone box if there were no litter bins around & expect the phone company to provide litter bins, it's that simple, well maybe dumbasses would (like you?). Also the Airport has no duty to provide religious structures or facilities. That's what should have happened to the muslims, i would punch them out if they washed their feet in my sink or any sink i used that is for the purpose of washing my hands. I think the muslims want special accomodation which is not afforded to anyone else. Come on now: what is more unreasonable than not accomodating their needs? Interesting though how in many people's eyes the pastor here is the one who seems to be at fault
