    The SBI Card which you were using to verify the account is perhaps a credit card but only valid in India and Nepal, You need an International credit card of SBI to verify you account, I had been using my SBI card since the last 3 years and there has never been any problem

    and all those who had been trying using ICICI Debit card, Be informed, Debit Cards in India are only for Electronic use only ( offline swapping of cards) unlike Western and European countries, So don't waste your time trying with a debit card, It will never go through,

    Hmm nice idea , i think i will also go for it . My dad also have cc of Hdfc . Maybe they can allow that bank .Is their anyone whose HDFC card got rejected till yet .

    My ICICI debit card was also rejected while I was registering it for verification. Later I came to know that the card having written 'electronic use only' cannot be used for online purpose. I came to know this while searching for the reason for the reject.

    ICICI debit card??

    will they give me one without a account in their bank? What ID proof will they ask for?

    it has been raining heavily here today so I couldn't get in touch with them face to face. Will go to the bank tomorrow

    I Think the Credit card is not International . check on your card. some indian bank credit cards use only in india and nepal only. check it first.

    and indian bank debit cards be it international or local are not for online purchase.never try indian bank issued debit cards in paypal or else.

    Even my debit card is not accepted by PayPal.
    I have a Axis Bank international gold debit card, with a Visa logo on it.
    And yes it has "ELECTRONIC USE ONLY" written near its left edge!

    The Brand Name on the Card is simply Printed as SBI Card, When you apply for a credit card, Instruct them for a card that can be used online i.e an international credit card....

    For all the members " Debit Cards of any bank in India cannot be used online, Not on PayPal, Not even on any online Merchant "

    All the Credit Cards which have international validity, issued by an Indian Bank ( SBI, Citibank, HDFC, ICICI, HSBC, ABN AMRO etc) with a Visa Logo will work on PayPal and other online merchants

    Yes, if it has those words written on it, then that debit card cannot be used for online purpose and hence rejected by paypal.

    But, ICICI credit cards are accepted by paypal.
