well if that happens to things will happen. i will multiply my prices with INR48 (which is INR rate.) and Lots of Indian people will leave the DP. Sanjay
lol many people said that they will leave webmaster... I think i will then be full time webmaster I will buy all premium sites and domains and invest 50% of my savings on net WOW man...
I simply don't understand why Indian are talking about leaving dp? Sounds ridiculous to me! Infact it would be a different world all together wherein Indians will rule!
It is such a hypothetical question that my mind is just not ready to even think of the possibilities that may arise due to it! Even if it happens, it would be such a gradual process that we would have surely adjusted to it when it happens. But one thing is certain that outsourcing from India would have long stopped and dollar would no longer be a favored international currency! Regards, RightMan
your missing the economy of scale if 1INR=1USD that means the dollar has a value of 40 times less than what it currently does. Our cost of living is not going to go DOWN So unless india becomes a world standard, the conversion would be the same, and its even worse. So although buying power for india would be good, it would be horrible for anything based in the USA. So.... Right now, a gallon of gas is about $2.50 or 112INR if it was 1:1 then a gallon of gas would be $112 per gallon or 5062.5 INR If a 1500 square foot house in Florida costs $150,000 (rs6,750,000) That same house would then be $6.7 MILLION US or (re303,750,000) a Godaddy domain costs around $9USD or rs405 Godaddy being a us company would have to charge $405 or rs18,225 to REGISTER A .COM! The only other way for this to change is if it changes on a GLOBAL scale for instance the ruppee equals the euro then it would be 1USD = 1.6EUR = 1.6INR then it would actually be cheaper for INDIA to OUTSOURCE to the USA! Imagine THAT DAY!
@Business Coach: You are going wrong dude. Lets take your Godaddy domain example: Godaddy is charging 9$ for domain so its equal to Rs.405 so if $ becomes equals to INR then I dont think Godaddy will have anything to do with increasing price its just we will have to pay 9INR
Godaddy is based in the usa...cost of living does not go DOWN whether the value of the rupee goes UP and becomes the standard or the value of the dollar goes DOWN, the cost of business in america will GO UP very much. cost of living + Inflation + weak dollar = high prices
there is a difference in "standard" and "cost" we have already seen the "standard" elevate rapidly over the last decade. this is due to the low "cost", yet the increased "power" of the INR. But thats just locally, not on a global level. "standard of living" and "global standard" are not the same. The dollar is a global standard, and a preferred. If the ruppee were, things would be reversed, and for a time, the things manufactured and based in the usa (things like hosting and domains) would get very expensive.
Not an indian but thats not the way currency works... If 1 USD = 1 INR, then if you charge ur client $1/month for a hosting account, then in the USA you will get a few things, in INR, it will also bring you a few things instead of 1 candy (like as of now)
