I just ended a bad experience with an independent SEO person. All I really wanted was link-building. After 8 months of no significant progress, I came to the conclusion he reads up on all the latest techniques and practices them on me, but is too lazy to do much link-building. I think my onsite optimization is excellent and my content is much more vast and higher quality than anyone else in my niche (which is quite narrow). So for link-building now I've decided to try out an established, reputable Indian company. Does that sound sensible to forum members? I want to start with a minimal package, so they offered me 3 months for $450, saying they would provide me with 225 backlinks for 15 keywords and thorough reporting. Is that a reasonable price?
You get what you pay for and that's not much money (regardless of where it's outsourced to) for genuine, quality SEO work. Educated yourself a bit first before going for any SEO company, by at least reading these two articles: Don't Like Snake Oil? Stop Buying It! 6 Sure-fire Signs That Your SEO Company Sucks
$450 for 3 months of SEO work is not much actually. you can't get much of a quality work for $150/month. try to find out exactly how they will build those backlinks.
$450 for 3 months is consider reasonable, the other concern is how good are them. The quantity of backlink is not the main concern but the quality of the backlink
I think you should ask them about keyword ranking Result instead of just few or bulk crap or useless back links . now a days its very easy to build crap back links which is just few time . so asked them quality backlinks.
It's a crying shame that folk here get stung by crappy SEO "gurus" and give the rest of us SEO's that do actually know what we're doing a bad name. Personally, $450 would probably be one months worth of SEO from my company. However this $450/m would be quality SEO which would provide long lasting solid results. You get what you pay for, and most people here go for the cheap option, pay peanuts and then wonder why nothing happens. Sods law IMO
I think $450 per month for link building can be a good investment, but you should ask the person and inquire him thoroughly what he can offer for $450pm
i think you should see keyword competition first and you need to some quality & relevant backlink. but how can you say that 225 backlink is sufficient for traffic to your website. $450 for 3 months is sufficient for any freelancer but not any SEO Company. so you try to choose a good & experienced SEO freelancer for your work. Thanks Pushpendra
You should ask for weekly report and the final decision whether to go for a company or not is totally yours.
Yes, with the search engines keep updating their algorithm and paying more attention to the quality, you need to be careful about outsourcing SEO work. Try to have a sample report from that SEO company to see how exactly they'll do their work.
google is concentrating So much of their viewers. So its very important to concentrate on to the quality of SEO work. Experts work hard to test, reverse-engineer and develop strategies for successful SEO, but real experts don’t write about specifics in public.
$450 for 3 months is much cheaper buddy since there are some companies out there that offer $300 per month however the results and the output will matter regardless of the price.
Is it possible the labour power in India is much more cheaper so that they can provide same link building service but with much lower cost?
When you find no results, why did you wait for 8 months? $450 is ok only if that provider is experienced enough to give you quality link.
Late reply considering that u made this post on 7th june. but still... - I think it is bad time for anyone in seo whether he is alone or working in a company. - Cost will depend on your site and keyword. $450 is more than enough and at the same time it cant be considered much if you have a badly optimized site or a high competition niche. ~ASHISH THAKKAR
225 backlinks for 15 keywords for $450 over a period of 3 months, no doubt is a good deal. But how good are the links you're going to get? Why not ask for some samples!
